k-chanlovesanimexd: Idate on a stroll and meeting Tatsumiya in the Sea of Stars?

This sorta happens in one of the videos in the bonus room? But yeah here we go. First time kinda writing these two together so here we go.

- Persistent for Trouble

“Oh, I wasn’t expecting to bump into anyone here.”

Head snapping to the side, wide amber eyes take in the sight of the strolling orca, one hand casually slotted into his pocket whilst the other holds firmly onto a lit cigarette. As he stares at her from beneath hooded eyelids, the young woman feels her cheeks staining red, and quickly diverts her face to hide her blush.

“Um, I… I was just admiring the view.”

Truth be told, she’d been waiting for him – but she wasn’t going to admit that. Tatsumiya had been aware for a while now that the orca often appeared in the Sea of Stars, going so far as to begin coming by here and waiting in hopes of bumping into the man.

It would seem her patience had paid off.

“Ah, is that so?” She’s all too aware of him as he steps closer, coming to a stop a few feet beside her. Her heart beats rapidly in response to his presence, and somehow she finds she doesn’t mind the smell of smoke that accompanies him.  Really now, getting a silly crush at her age? She wasn’t some high school girl, she should know better.

But…

Stealing a peek from the corner of her eyes, her gaze wanders over his form. His hair is unruly and disheveled, falling partially across his face which never seems to change in terms of expression - thus making it difficult to decipher what he’s ever thinking.

She was never one to fall for the rough types, but she supposed there was a first time for everything.

As if feeling her gaze upon him, he turns to meet her eyes, causing the oarfish to freeze on the spot at being caught.

He raises an eyebrow questioningly. “Hm?”

“I….” Racing for something to say, she blurts the first thing to come to mind. “I don’t even know your name.”

Which is true, she realises, after the words have left her mouth.

He blinks. “Ah, so you don’t.” Returning his gaze forward, he proceeds to take a drag from his cigarette and Tatsumiya is left wondering if he’s even going to respond.

Just as she’s about to speak again however, he beats her to it.

“Idate.”

A pause. “…Idate?” She echoes, testing the name upon her lips. He casts her a brief look, offering a quirk of the lips in affirmation which only leads her to become more flustered.

She expects him to ask for her name – hopes it, really – but when he says nothing and appears quite content to remain silent, she eventually breaks the silence of her own accord. “T-Tatsumiya.”

When he looks down at her as if confused, she fights back the blush and speaks on, head held high as she fights to appear confident. “That’s my name, it only seems fair to offer mine in return after all.”

He stares at her for a moment before smirking, and she notes how the skin around his eyes crinkles as he shows his amusement.

“Tatsumiya, is it?”

“Y-Yes.” She replies, inwardly wincing as she stutters.

The orca nods and then goes on to surprise her with his next actions, taking the cigarette and suddenly holding it before her lips. “Here.”

Her eyes drops to the object before flying back up to his face, was this some sort of way of him showing his acceptance?

“I don’t…” Her protest fades away however as their eyes meet, and her arm moves to accept the cigarette as if on auto-pilot.

With his gaze fixated on her, Tatsumiya places the butt of it between her lips – where only moments earlier his own had been, she notes with embarrassment – and inhales.

“!!!”

Choking, the cigarette drops to the floor as she coughs, eyes squeezed shut as smoke burns against the back of her throat. Out of somewhere, a hand comes to rest against her back, patting her between the shoulders and helping her to get over the reaction.

“Whoah, whoah… Easy there.”

When she eventually regains her senses and straightens up, Tatsumiya is aware of him chuckling at her expense, and quickly averts her gaze aside in embarrassment.

“Perhaps not for you.” He chides, his hand still on her back.

All too aware of the physical contact and the warmth emitting from his hand, she turns her head a fraction so she can see his face, frowning slightly in defense. “Smoking is a bad habit anyway.”

“Oh?” Again, he raises an eyebrow, amusement dancing in his eyes as he looks down upon her. “Then, I guess it fits someone like me perfectly.” He flashes her a toothy grin, razor sharp ivories on display.

And although she knows she should be scared by it, should take it as a warning to stay away, somehow the fair haired woman only finds her attraction to him grows.

Oh god, what was happening to her?

Eventually he drops his hand from her - much to her disappointment - and takes a step away, offering a wave of the hand. “Well then… Tatsumiya, was it? I’ll see you some other time.”

Her name rolls of his tongue all too easily, and the woman holds a hand over her chest, cheeks red as the orca walks away. The cigarette remains by her feet on the floor, wisps of smoke emitting from it and remaining as a reminder of him.

Ah, she really was looking for trouble with this one, wasn’t she?

“Huh.” Is all he responds. She’s aware of him as he steps closer to stand beside her, and her heart beats rapidly upon his presence. Really now, getting a silly crush at her age? She wasn’t some high school girl, she should know better.

Stealing a peek from the corner of her eyes, her gaze wanders over him. His hair is unruly and disbelieved, falling partially across his face which never seems to change in terms of expression and making it difficult to decipher what he’s thinking.

However, a moment later:

“Idate.”

With his gaze fixated on her, Tatsumiya places the butt of it between her lips – where only moments earlier his own had been, she notes with embarrassment – and inhales.

And though she knows she should be scared by it, should take it as a warning to stay away, somehow the woman only finds her attraction to him increased.
